Finals and the End of an Era

I know, I know. It’s alwasy tough to say goodbye. But sometimes, it’s not that tough.I finished my last final today at 9 am. As I walked back to my car, I passed the library, the fountain, the Student Union and the Classroom Building. I thought, “I won’t be here much anymore. I won’t see this stuff on a regular basis.” I’ll never have to sit in another classroom and listen to a boring lecture (or an exciting one for that matter). I’ll never have to park 10 miles away and run to class (b/c there’s no parking on campus and I woke up late). I’ll never have to lug my books around all morning, just so I can free up my afternoons for work (or vice versa). I’ll never have to feel like I should brownnose the Prof/TA/Grad student in order to help my grade, and feel guilty when I don’t. All I have to do—the only thing that stands between me and my diploma are 10 books, 10-15 quizzes and a ten-page paper. THAT’S IT!!!
Although I gripe (alot) about school, I will miss some things. Here are a couple, in the order I could think of them:
- Not really being responsible (or, still being a kid)
- Beating Leslie at Double Speed at the coffee shop
- Free pancakes on Finals Week
- Going to IHOP at 2 am
- Saying I go to the best school in the country!
- The O’Colly crossword
- Spring (the guys know what I’m talking about—but it kinda ended with “I do”)
- The campus
- Being able to be somewhat of a slob, and it be okay.
I have to say that it’s been a blast. I am going to be around next year, but not nearly as much. I now have to be an adult. Wish me luck.
one love.
