WE’RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!
Oct 28 2004
Just wanted to pass on a little OSU love (even though most of the media doesn’t). Although I’m sure we’re HUGE underdogs, I think the ‘Boys have a chance to pull one out. But the key is the defense. It’s been our weakness the past few weeks and it will either kill us or march us to victory. Let’s hope they choose the latter! (also check out the nation’s top running backs)
RIDE, RIDE, RIDE, RIDE ‘EM COWBOYS! TO VICTORY!

In the immortal words of the immortal Mase, “Welcome Back!”Things have been going pretty well lately. Jen is finally here to stay for more than a few weeks, I’m finally getting paid what I’m supposed to, and things are just falling into place. Jen hasn’t been home in a couple weeks and won’t go until Thanksgiving. I know it’s pretty tough on her, but it’s a lot better for me. I like it for a while - I get to have the house to myself, don’t have to clean, sleep by myself - but eventually it gets really old and I miss kissing her good night, miss sitting with her on the couch, miss hearing her voice. But she’s back for a while. She’s starting to really pick up responsibilities at the church. Her Monday’s, Tuesday’s, and Wednesday’s are already filled up until after I get home. She’s been out the trailor park a couple times to hang out with kids, and her team is going to start a tutoring session out there once a week! She’s really enjoying it and loves hanging out with the kids.
At work, I’ve been getting more and more responsibilities. I’ve started giving tours, taking sales calls, sending out termination letters, and taking care of some bills. My boss has been keeping me in the loop of a lot of things that she deals with. And they are finally paying me what I’m supposed to be paid, even though I failed to pull in my very first tour. Story: I gave my first tour (a crash course for me in sales) to a couple from Pittsburgh looking for 2 offices. They really liked a couple of them until we sat down and talked numbers. He thought a few things were overpriced (mainly our telecom package). Anyway, he leads us on for a week - saying he’ll call, but never does. So I called him today and he told me that he had decided to go with the other space. Oh well, you win some, you lose some (or so I’m told).
However, probably the greatest part of my job is the people. I met a guy from a company that provides custom stock images. He’s a brother in Christ and even approached me about it! He said the thing that attracted him was I reminded him of himself - young guy with a shiny wedding band. His name is Thaine and he works as a programmer/developer for OnRequest Images, and is a pretty cool guy. He seems very intelligent, very well read, well traveled, and deeply in love with the Lord. We’ve had a couple of one-on-one’s that have been great. Today, he offered to help me learn the backside of website - actually making them functional. He told me about Web Matrix that looks to be an all-inclusive tool that includes design and data info and management. Hopefully soon, I’ll be able to add “Developer” to my resume (sorry if I offended any Developers out there - I’m just a big nerd!).
Anyway, love you guys, miss you guys in Oklahoma. Shoot me an email sometime. I’ll try to reply (Thaine taught me about the Reply button) as soon as I can.
one love.
