VH1 Best Week Ever

This Sunday marks the year anniversary of my “VH1 Best Week Ever”. Last Oct 29th, Chris and I found out we were parents, which as most people know, was my life long dream. The excitement of that moment is something I think I will never forget. There was crying and laughing and jumping up and down, and phone calls…you get the idea. Just a few days after that, George was re-elected the President of the United States in what was a very close election and durning a time when I was living in the liberal capital of the midwest. This of course was also very exciting to me at the time as I have deep politiacal passions and a soft spot for ol’ dubya. The day after the election was my 25th birthday and that was fun cause 25 is just a cool number. That night we had a little party with Boulder friends at Bennigans to celebrate baby, Bush, and birthday. I really thought that it would be impossible to hold an ounce more of happiness.

Well, I was wrong. At the same time this year I look back and see that I am even happier this week in 2005 than I was in 2004. A lot has happened in the last year and I find myself in a place of utter contentment. First of all, having a perfect child, who at the moment is preciously sleeping in her swing, is MUCH better than being pregnant (something I found out about the second week of November last year!). She is the most amazing thing I have ever laid eyes upon, and she’s mine!?! The second thing that is more amazing this time around is that I am in Stillwater and not Boulder. Don’t think for a minute that I don’t firmly believe that is where God wanted us last year cause it was. But being there gave me a rich appreciation for my family and friends and I am blessed to know where my home is. I find myself sitting here, in my beautiful home, listening to my kid breathing in the other room, 1 missed call from a great friend on my cell phone, best in-laws in all the world on their way to my house tomorrow, a great job at my church and I think, how does life get better than this? We’ll have to see what 2006 brings!

Lost Cause

Can I just say that I LOVE the fact that Chris writes a post about Not writing a post about computers and tech stuff at like midnight last night and then turns around and makes the tech post the very next afternoon! Yeah, thats just who he is and I am learning to accept him the way he is.

Things I’M excited about: My cute nerdy husband that just can’t help himself. :)

My Would Be Post

Well, I have been vetoed out of a post. This isn’t really the first time the wife has commented how geeky/nerdy/boring I am to the masses, but this is the first time on OUR site. So I graciously heed to her wishes (does that sentence make sense?).

My new post is about installing a second hard drive on our computer. Now, before you say, “Yeah, that would’ve been boring” (although I know you already thought it), I think it would be helpful to those that are psuedo-tech savvy, as myself. I may post it over on my Xanga site, but we’ll see. So far, it’s only the “draft” stage.

Our weekend was semi-eventful: Our flag football team won twice on Sat., OSU lost, UO lost BIG TIME to Texas, Dallas whooped up on Philly, we had a little family get-together Sat afternoon complete with sandwiches, pickles, chips, dip, and of course, Dr. Pepper.

Lately, I’ve been pretty excited about stuff. Nothing in general, just personal stuff. PHP & MySQL, Trinity holding her head up, Trinity laughing, coming home to Jen at lunch and after work, sleeping next to her too. Just weird personal stuff.

So, in conclusion, I raise my Dr. Pepper to you - to the post that wasn’t.
